history

It’s hard to be in a position of looking into the past and feeling discomfort, unhappiness, disagreement, or guilt for what you might’ve done or believed, things you said or choices you made.

There are things in my history I’m not proud of, and I think maybe that’s true for everyone.

Guilt is an uncomfortable experience. But I think maybe we can let it serve us if we’re willing to let it be a teacher. We can learn from it, use it as a pivoting growth point, and reach forward towards a different future of who we want to become.

Ultimately, being wracked with guilt probably isn’t beneficial. If you did the best you could back then, and you’re doing the best you can now, and you’re willing to look bravely at yourself, including your own shortcomings and weaknesses, and you’re willing to admit it all and work to keep stretching, then you are on the right path. Have some self-compassion. These are markers that you’re still growing. 🌱💚

If we can keep our minds open and always be willing to consider other possibilities and perspectives, there’s a surefire tool for continued evolution and not just locking ourselves into a narrow world where we are comfortable and self-assured and right all the time.

Sometimes you look back and realize you weren’t right.

There may be a time in the future when you look back to now and believe you weren’t right. So hold everything with an open palm, be gentle and gracious as much as you can, and try to keep a strong pliability and willingness to your forgiveness and how you interact with others.

I’m sorry for the mistakes I’ve made and especially for any time I did not live up to the wholehearted character I want to be and any time this affected others or I acted out of place towards someone else. I’m sorry, and I’m trying to learn and grow.

We’re all magnificent, feeling creatures, moving forward through the struggles and joys of our lives in the best ways we know how! I am proud of myself. I am proud of you. We can forgive ourselves and choose to celebrate all our wins, progress, accomplishments, courage, and kindnesses. What is something you do very well??? Go, you! Keep doing that. You bright, shining star, you. Don’t forget to validate and celebrate who you are, too.

I saw an image online once that said, “Life is tricky, baby — stay in your magic.” ✨

You are magic. I see it in you.

Love,

I don’t know where this saying comes from originally, but I created this phone wallpaper, if you’d like it!
Feel free to download and use 😊🦋✨
