absolute yes

This weekend, things are shaking off and falling away, and I’m all by myself, nearly on the other side of the US, having a solo travel and adventure weekend!

I’m in Ohio, and it’s for a specific purpose — third powerlifting competition on Saturday, woo! — but I’m also just absolutely soaking up the time to be by myself, be free and unencumbered, and practice the Absolute Yes of doing whatever I feel like for four days.

I am pampering myself.

I am sitting in the hot tub and bobbing around in the heated pool as long as I damn well please.

I am putting on face and hair masks I brought with me.

I am imagining the high braid I’m going to try out tomorrow, experimenting with my look for the platform. 🏋🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️

I am listening to playlists that make me happy.

I am laying around on my hotel bed, only getting in the shower when it feels like the right time. 😂

I am planning out tasty food for the next couple days and thinking about where I might explore tomorrow.

I’m picturing comp day — excited, determined, nervous.

I am practicing meeting and noticing my anxiety and then calming it (remember, we can really want something and love to do something — like travel — but still get all the feelings and stress about it, especially when it’s pretty new and unfamiliar!! Normal! Doesn’t mean anything is wrong!)… choosing to calm myself with tools like deep breaths, centering on presence, utilizing mini guided meditations, taking some Pepto Bismol, and remembering I am strong and capable and safe.

I am seeing new places, experiencing some independence, and trying things for the first time (like my own first rental car!).

I am on an adventure and loving it!
