What works when I’m afraid, is not avoiding my fear, protecting myself from my fear, or coddling myself through my fear — it’s facing my fear.

Acknowledge the fear.

Yes, this is going to be challenging. Okay, I’m scared.

I’m going to start anyway. Try it. Go for it, you can do this.

So instead of avoiding, coddling, or shielding myself through my fears — or similarly, through hard things I don’t want to deal with — it always works infinitely better if I face them.

The challenge is the way.
