forthwith
I have thought a lot (and written) about developing and having a bias for action, and it’s become a prominent, recurring need, very evident again this week! Always good to get reminders, I guess. 😉
As I lean into new things in my life and moving forward boldly, I am trying to become more self-confident and more courageous. I am trying to ditch any and all self-doubts that aren’t serving me and become someone who can creatively, excitedly make up her mind and then do the thing she decided to do. Forthwith! 🎩😂
Instead of being stalled by fear or — a big one for me, which I am newly realizing — the need for outside confirmation, validation, agreement, approval, or opinions… instead of letting these obstacles get in the way, I’m working on becoming someone who knows how to LIVE and make my own choices about my life and for myself and my resources, interests, passion, and time. I’m practicing choosing something, trusting what I’ve chosen, and then doing it forthwith, with no delay, taking action and leaning into failing forward.
Like I wrote in the 100th,
If your first experiment doesn’t work out, try another one. If it flops, you pivot. If you fail, you get back up. There is no shame in this game, and you don’t have any imaginary standards, timeline, opinions of others, or shoulds that you must live up to. There is only what you want, where you are now, where you are going, and what you need and are willing and ready to do to get there.
This is your life, and you just get this one. There are no guarantees. Just do it! Try things. What’s the worst that can happen? Give it everything you’ve got.
Forthwith and godspeed.
