taking breaks

What kinds of breaks do we need?

Marinating is the kind of work — of deep thought and heart — that can take a lot out of you!

I think it calls for…

  • Nourishing meals — tonight we’re having Christmas-gift, ready-made burritos, a delicious yearly treat from Grandma that makes our day!

  • Dance breaks to shake it all off and get back into your body instead of your sleepy brain — time for Zumba in 45 minutes!

  • Warmth — fire and blankets and socks

  • Christmas tree lights

  • And fun movies — this week, it’s been Harry Potter night after night, Migration in theaters, and The Family Plan… movies that are stellar, funny, heart-warming, quality, fun… that’s what I’m after!

There’s also been a fair amount of futzing and floating. You know, time to do nothing specific, such as time to sit at the edge of the bathtub unplanned for half an hour after a shower, practicing Spanish on Duolingo, instead of rushing to dry off and get dressed, because there’s no where I must rush to be! 😆😉

Happy, merry everything, and lots of joy and love!
