doing the hard things
If you notice something you’re bad at, don’t avoid it.

garden magic
Here’s to resting, springing, refreshing, relaxing… and coming back way better than before.

spiraling up
Slowly, like roots growing deep within us and new life sprouting through the surface, everything comes together and turns into something useful and beautiful.

questions of the day
On adventures, imagining, paths, and living…

costs
On knowing and paying the costs of what really matters to us and how this is actually extraordinary, mundane everyday magic.
Massive spotlight: friendship.
Also: home.

forthwith
On experimenting and failing forward. Ditch self-doubt, adopt excited decisiveness, and try whatever you want!

the 100th
The one where everyday magic turns 100 posts old!!!
And we talk about life…
You were made for this. You were built for this life. You are designed for your dreams. You are capable of everything you are imagining. You can do it if you absolutely refuse to quit.

history
On looking into the past and growing towards the future, with courage, forgiveness, acceptance, self-compassion, and gentle grace.

rising or sinking
On rising to the occasion vs. sinking to your level of preparation…

active happiness & big & small joys
Happiness requires effort and investment. It can be hard to get happy!
When we’re immersed in celebration for big joys AND small joys, our whole lives become joy (with the human experience of pain and challenge all woven throughout, of course).

nobody’s fault but yours
“You can’t let the worst things that happen to you keep you from getting what you want. And if you do, that is nobody’s fault but yours.”

the one about everything
How you do one thing is how you do everything.

something always happens
Something always happens.
And you can always still choose who you’ll be and what you’ll do next.
No matter what.

your birthday
On celebrating a birthday.

anything can happen
On the importance of spaces where anything can happen. Alongside the needed flip side of this freedom coin…

suck hard
A lesson my husband taught me… and not the one you might think. 😜🙈
If I can apply “failure as a gift” and “suck hard” to the actual act of LIVING MY LIFE – not just to a hobby or skill or one specific new thing I want to learn, but to eeeeeeverything my life, choices, thoughts, feelings, and actions consist of, all my multiplicity – then I think maybe I can really get somewhere.

the alternative
Don’t want to clear the way?
Don’t want to do the work?
Don’t want to put yourself out there or feel the terror or move past the anxious lizard brain?
Don’t want messier but better?
…OK, then what’s the alternative?

clearing the way for surprise gifts
Generally, anytime some kind of big personal shift or action happens, I usually find so many more opportunities presenting themselves, and a surprise or two come along like divine gifts.

from now on
The one with my BEING Manifesto.
Who are you being?

to look forward to
On the everyday magic of little things to look forward to.
