How do you keep going, maintain patience for the waiting, when you feel like you cannot? When you just don’t want to? When you aren’t yet seeing the results or progress you’ve been working so hard for and it feels like it’s been so long?

Humans are not robots. We are not machines, moving through our sequencing and our logically-outlined paper instructions that “add up,” with no program hitches or mechanical failures or deterrences. Humans are messier and more feeling than that. We are feeling beings. There is always more to the story, because the story isn’t just the facts that we stack up on the page.

It’s like complaining about not knowing what the puzzle will look like when you’ve never done the puzzle before; but you can’t know until you start doing it.

On tiny next steps: because the growth and goals we want can seem so intimidatingly huge and make us doubt our abilities or chance for success, sometimes we have to quiet and sort of “trick” the fear by moving forward an inch at a time.

On spring and special occasions, birthdays and big and little celebrations, a calendar full of happy plans, and the mundane and magic!

Do something. Make a change. Make a contribution. Help. Use your body. Spend time and effort on something worthwhile that will give you (or someone else) results and improvement. Finish a project.

A beneficial gift of your abilities is the power to focus them in generous ways.

Eventually, we get tired of the thing slowing us down, getting in our way, or maybe even hurting us. Enough is enough. It’s time. This is the day.

On being your own Imagineer.

On the magic unification of our days and growth (both active and dormant) shining with strength, beauty, purpose, and meaning — together. Growth isn’t linear, but it’s beautiful like fairy lights.

Grace is never something earned, and if we’ve had to earn it, it can’t be grace. It’s not something we can hustle or work for. Grace is a gift, given freely and abundantly, and it never runs out.

Not every creation you make can be a home run.

Move through this. Don’t just get stopped here. Make a decision, you can do it. Choose something, and then take action. The action makes you better.
