the full story
A single snapshot — a standalone moment — can never provide the full story, with all the context and truths. You contain multitudes. So does the human experience.

necessary elements for happiness
True happiness is not just ease and getting exactly what you want all the time. Happiness requires upfront cost and investment: hard work to be proud of, authentic alignment with your vision for your life, practicing and returning.

transformation
Transformation happens in trickles and daily stacking — a defiant, grace-filled act of patience.

delight! pt. 2
I’m here to advocate for whimsy. For being full of childlike wonder. For noticing, as much as you can, whenever you remember not to be bogged under by the weight of the world — not to let the muggles get you down, as it were. For delight and joy and tiny treasures of moments and a total embracing of what you love. You do not have to be serious and be un-amused. Be amused! Celebrate every damn moment you feel like celebrating, even if somebody else tells you you’re too old or that’s silly or what’s the point??

If you’re in a low spot, if you’ve been consumed by something taking a lot out of you, if you’re tired or hormonal or learning something new… whatever the cause, whatever your season… just remember everything goes in cycles and waves, and nothing is permanent.

raw & unresolved
I’ve been feeling a little raw lately. Not in a bad way. Just in a Very Alive way.

Advice for newbies…

don’t / do
Avoidance and intentional direction are two very different things.

deep joy
Is it too much to ask for what I want?

tea time
On the days with no answers, when it sounds nicest to go back to bed, with a mug of tea…

a does not equal b
No shared values is not indicative of no good values. Just totally depends on perspective and who you’re asking.

desert mirage
Worrying — thinking you can predict, circumvent, and prematurely solve for possible problems in your life and get all the outcomes you want — is a trick of the light, a desert mirage, a wanderer’s trap, a deception easily believed… but it isn’t real.
