The baking process will not continue — your ideas will not come to fruition and rise and turn golden — without a little attention and work. That’s all it takes.

The very idea of having to come back to it — of there being something that requires my return — often pisses me off. I don’t want to have to do the thing, whatever it is, again, so my logic is I should just go HAM on it until it’s off the docket.

On friendship, sadness, endings, and beginnings. Courage. A glimpse at two of our best pals soon moving away, out of state, and the feelings this brings with it. The ache of friends missed. The letting go of grasping, for new adventures and whatever may come next. We can’t know yet. Big love.

Can we see each other through our anger and focus more on the person behind the anger rather than the anger itself?

Because often, it’s more like sometimes.

Heroes are not the star of the show and the change-makers because everything comes easily to them; on the contrary, usually our heroes have to fight through many obstacles and pains to win the day and become their best selves. Heroes are heroes because they have clear conviction for their truest vision, and they’re willing to take on challenge with courage and heart. Heroes are heroes because they do not cave to the siren song of comfort. Our heroes are the ones willing to take responsibility and get to work.

Today, I'm grateful for flying because it is an amazing lens to see more beauty in the world. It's a magical, still world above it all, to observe the things you miss on the ground. It's a chance to slow down, look around, and be thankful for our place in the universe.

On attitudes and behaviors that cut off our chances for growth and support and block the adventures we could be experiencing…

Is there substance within me, something of significance beneath my skin, a seed or spark or strong root inside my mind or my heart?

On mutiny, fear, and commitment…

So here’s another day. Another chance to do your best and be bold and happy and kind and brave.

Meaningful hard work, and why it’s the essential magic ingredient to our happiness in life. This key unlocks the door.

I think sometimes we shy away from effort, when it’s the very thing that will improve the quality of our lives the most.

Encouragement for practicing, staying committed to the small actions, and stepping through the door… it’s the start of everything.

I have been doing very interesting things! Which, for me, usually centers around people and creativity…

People are tricky. It can be very hard to see and accept their entirety, with complexities and contradictions and multiplicity. Every one of us is a wild, yearning, hurting, loving, longing, imaginative human being with needs and desires and histories.
